Edward E. Jarzabski, 76

 

DUDLEY - Edward E. Jarzabski, 76, of 14 Fourth Ave., formerly of Webster, a Webster police officer for 25 years, died yesterday in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 48 years, Rose B. (Biadasz) Jarzabski; a son, Joseph E. Jarzabski of Webster; two daughters, Mary Bernier of Atlanta and Beth Chamberland of Sturbridge; two brothers, Bernard Jarzabski of Dudley and Walter Jarzabski of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren; a great-grandson; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Kate Cyr of Dudley, died in 1991. He was born in Webster, son of Vincent and Josephine (Aleksandrowicz) Jarzabski, and lived here 38 years. He graduated from Bartlett High School, Webster, in 1940. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in North Africa and Europe.

Mr. Jarzabski was a patrolman and desk officer in the Webster Police Department for 25 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Nichols College Golf Club. He was an avid golfer and fisherman.

A private graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in

St. Joseph's Cemetery, Webster. A memorial Mass will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 56 West Main St. There are no calling hours. However, friends may visit the family home, 14 Fourth Ave., through tomorrow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Felician Sisters, 1315 Enfield St., Enfield, Conn. 06082. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, is directing arrangements.
