Project Details
The Town of Webster has initiated a Police/Fire Station Study Committee. This committee was tasked with studying the needs and feasibility of building a new Police Station while at the same time renovating the existing Police/Fire Station building for continued future use as a Fire Station. Thanks to your support and approval of this project, this committee will move to the next stage and become an official building committee to oversee the construction of a new Police Station and a renovated Fire Station.
Thanks to a very generous donation from Gerald and Marilyn Fels of the Fels Family Foundation, a $6 million grant is being offered to help defray some of the cost of this project. A condition of the grant stipulates that the grant must be used to build the new Police Station on Main St. This, along with an additional $500,000 grant made possible by Randy and Donna Becker towards the purchase of the "Vito Block" (357-385 Main St.), and your support at Town Meeting and Election makes this piece of property the future home of the Webster Police Department.
Below you will find links to a short PowerPoint Presentation that has been developed by the study committee, Key Points (FAQ) for Voters, as well as some early stage artist renderings of the property and floor plans.
We will continue to update this page with project updates to include official plans and a photo "history" of the project as it progresses.
