Welcome to the Webster Police Special Operations Unit
The Webster Police Special Operations Unit (SOU) is comprised of 4 dedicated police officers who are specially trained in the areas of special weapons and tactics. Team members are selected from the patrol division and are required to attend monthly and annual trainings. They are required to remain in top physical condition.
The Special Operations Unit's function is to safely resolve critical incidents. They are called upon to handle barricaded gun hostage situations, execute violent felony warrants, parole warrants and drug search warrants. The S.O.U. team has also been called upon to assist other law enforcement agencies team in Worcester county.
Along with the 4 team members, the S.O.U. has two hostage negotiators and tactical medical personnel.
